Alex Branton on The Mack Podcast: NAV Financing for Family Offices
Nodem Capital founder Alex Branton joins Brian Adams to explain how family offices use NAV financing to raise capital without selling assets.

Alex Branton, founder of Nodem Capital, joined Brian Adams on The Mack Podcast to discuss net asset value (NAV) financing and its role in family office portfolio management.
What is NAV financing? NAV financing is a credit facility secured against the value of an investment portfolio rather than a single asset. It allows the borrower to raise capital while retaining ownership of the underlying holdings.
Why does it matter for family offices? Private market holding periods have lengthened and distributions have slowed. Rather than selling positions at a discount to generate liquidity, family offices can borrow against their portfolios and keep exposure to assets they want to hold.
In the conversation, Alex covers how NAV financing compares to secondary sales and other liquidity options, the most common use cases for family offices, what lenders look for in underwriting, and the questions a family should ask before selecting a financing partner.
